Barbara, these shadows over the tire tracks and the bark... it's so beautifully done. You are obviously quite the professional.

Barbara Jewell replied:

Thank you for your generous comments, Alexi. The tracks are actually made exclusively by cross-country skiers, which makes the "silence" possible!

It seems to me that in several minutes I`ll start skiing, I feel smack of snow and frost. Stunningly!!! It looks so real! Color is very pure and transparent. Shadows are so slight! I`m very glad I have seen your works and discovered such talented painter like you. F/V

You have captured this scene to reality and you truly can hear the Clear Blue Silence of a morning after a snow. Excellent work. Good luck on the Best Landscape Painting contest. Roena

About Barbara Jewell

Barbara Jewell

I have been seriously involved in watercolor painting for the last 20 years following retirement from my public school teaching career. Having the time to paint, along with the freedom from the need to make a living at the same time, has opened many wonderful new opportunities, friendships and experiences for me. I am a frequent exhibitor in art shows at the local, regional, state and national levels, having been honored to receive numerous awards for my work. My painting style is realistic. I am drawn to detail and favor the use of vivid color. I enjoy painting a variety of subject matter, but the glorious world of nature is what seems to suit me best. Many of my paintings reflect time spent outdoors, especially in the mountains...
