I have been seriously involved in watercolor painting for the last 20 years following retirement from my public school teaching career. Having the time to paint, along with the freedom from the need to make a living at the same time, has opened many wonderful new opportunities, friendships and experiences for me. I am a frequent exhibitor in art shows at the local, regional, state and national levels, having been honored to receive numerous awards for my work. My painting style is realistic. I am drawn to detail and favor the use of vivid color. I enjoy painting a variety of subject matter, but the glorious world of nature is what seems to suit me best. Many of my paintings reflect time spent outdoors, especially in the mountains...

Wow! This is really good! The sun is just beautiful on the his face and hair line and those little stands of weeds there in front of him are great!
Barbara Jewell replied:
Randy, thank you so much for your great, very specific and complimentary feedback! This was a commissioned piece of the grandson of the late Fred Rogers, which was to be a gift to Fred's wife, the child's grandmother. I have always wondered, and hoped it was "good enough," so I am appreciative of the affirmation!
