In attempts to lure this squirrel away from the birdfeeder, this orange, along with some other "people food" was put out where he could get it. Between his teeth and (amazingly) sharp claws, he managed to eat the entire thing, leaving only the peeling behind as proof of his success. What a hoot! This image makes me smile whenever I look at it.
I have been seriously involved in watercolor painting for the last 20 years following retirement from my public school teaching career. Having the time to paint, along with the freedom from the need to make a living at the same time, has opened many wonderful new opportunities, friendships and experiences for me. I am a frequent exhibitor in art shows at the local, regional, state and national levels, having been honored to receive numerous awards for my work. My painting style is realistic. I am drawn to detail and favor the use of vivid color. I enjoy painting a variety of subject matter, but the glorious world of nature is what seems to suit me best. Many of my paintings reflect time spent outdoors, especially in the mountains...

So pleased to know you like this one...one of my personal favorites. And...it took second place this week in a regional art show; always nice when a judge agrees with our own picks, right?!
