This path leads into an evergreen and Aspen forest near Arrowhead, Colorado. It was here, walking alone, when the soft breeze gently rustling the aspen leaves was the only sound to break the silence, that I truly felt the presence of God beside me. It happened to be during a period when my life was in transition when I was in great need of reassurance and direction. At that time and in that setting, I received both.
I have been seriously involved in watercolor painting for the last 20 years following retirement from my public school teaching career. Having the time to paint, along with the freedom from the need to make a living at the same time, has opened many wonderful new opportunities, friendships and experiences for me. I am a frequent exhibitor in art shows at the local, regional, state and national levels, having been honored to receive numerous awards for my work. My painting style is realistic. I am drawn to detail and favor the use of vivid color. I enjoy painting a variety of subject matter, but the glorious world of nature is what seems to suit me best. Many of my paintings reflect time spent outdoors, especially in the mountains...
