I have been seriously involved in watercolor painting for the last 12 years following retirement from my public school teaching career. Having the time to paint, along with the freedom from the need to make a living at the same time, has opened many wonderful new opportunities, friendships and experiences for me.

I am a frequent exhibitor in art shows at the local, regional, state and national levels, having received numerous awards for my work. My painting style is realistic with attention to detail and the use of vivid color. I enjoy painting a variety of subject matter, but am drawn mostly to the world of nature. Many of my paintings reflect time spent outdoors, especially in the mountains and forests of Colorado and Pennsylvania where my husband and I ski, hike, and bicycle. Basically, I paint what I love to look at, and hope that viewers will share my emotional response.

Over the past 10 years I have been juried into the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society and the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. I am honored to have earned signature status in the PA Watercolor Society and been accepted as an exhibiting member of the Latrobe Arts Center in Latrobe, PA.

Originally from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, I graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, with a major in elementary education and a minor in art. Subsequently, I went on to earn a Master's degree in special education from the University of Pittsburgh. More recently, I have taken classes at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, the Wilkins Community Center, and CCAC. I will always be grateful to wonderful instructors and fellow artist- friends, whose guidance and affirmation have helped to make my post-retirement life so productive, satisfying, and fun! And finally, many thanks to my highly skilled son, Adam, without whose expertise and patience this web site would not exist.
