Artist's Description
This child proudly shows off the Walleye he has just pulled in from Lake Erie while on a fishing trip with his grandfather...my Dad. The child is my son, Adam, as an 8-year-old. When I first showed him this painting, what excited him the most was that he was wearing his favorite "Killington" shirt at the time!
About Barbara Jewell
I have been seriously involved in watercolor painting for the last 20 years following retirement from my public school teaching career. Having the time to paint, along with the freedom from the need to make a living at the same time, has opened many wonderful new opportunities, friendships and experiences for me. I am a frequent exhibitor in art shows at the local, regional, state and national levels, having been honored to receive numerous awards for my work. My painting style is realistic. I am drawn to detail and favor the use of vivid color. I enjoy painting a variety of subject matter, but the glorious world of nature is what seems to suit me best. Many of my paintings reflect time spent outdoors, especially in the mountains...

What a family treasure this is sure to be for years to come, Barbara. I used to go fishing with my grandfather when I was 8, and we have a family picture that is almost the same as this painting. Adam is indeed fortunate to have such a talented mom. like/f
