Painting - Watercolor On Masa Paper
Description
This bluebird is warbling a joyful spring song! He is painted on a background of Masa paper (Japanese rice paper) which is prepared and glued to the watercolor paper ahead of time. In this particular piece, I saw shapes suggestive of spring blossoms, along with some branches, making a perfect perch for my bluebird. By further defining the shapes, I saw him perched within the branches of a tree in blossom, singing out his welcome to spring and all things new.
